Airlines to pay up to Rs 20,000 compensation to flyers if boarding is denied: DGCA | Aviation News

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has set forth the requirements in the event that a passenger with a valid ticket and who has arrived on time is denied boarding. The DGCA has published a statement in response to the circumstances. According to the DGCA in an official statement, if an airline is able to arrange an alternate trip for the aforementioned passenger within an hour, no compensation needs to be paid to the passenger.  However, if the airline is able to provide the alternate arrangement within the next 24 hours, compensation up to Rs 10,000 is prescribed, it said. WPI inflation spikes to record 15.88% in May on costlier food items, crude oil | Economy News

New Delhi: Wholesale price-based inflation rose to a record high of 15.88 per cent in May on rising prices of food items and crude oil. The Wholesale Price Index-based inflation was 15.08 per cent in April and 13.11 per cent in May last year. "The high rate of inflation in May, 2022 is primarily due to rise in prices of mineral oils, crude petroleum & natural gas, food articles, basic metals, non-food articles, chemicals & chemical products and food products etc. As compared to the corresponding month of the previous year," the commerce and industry ministry said in a statement.
